In July 2019, the iconic superhero of DC, Batman, was honored as a first enthroned to the fame temple of the characters of the Comic-Con. While most likely expected that another cartoon character is inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, however, earlier this week, the announced organization they would introduce their first video game character in The Character Hall of Fame. The fans responded to the announcement tweet of the organization by guessing who it could be like characters like Minecraft Steve, Crash Bandicoot and Bigby Wolf. An answer was even right to assume that the last inducted to Character Hall of Fame would be none other than the arcade classic, Pac-Man.
The Comic-con Museum announced the inauguration of Pac-Man at Character Hall of Fame on November 19th. The character appeared originally in 1980 in the classic arcade game, Pac-Man. Over the last forty years, Pac-Man appeared in more than 90 video game titles and has become a massive icon in popular culture – being considered one of the first mascots in the video game industry. In the same vein as other emblematic characters like Mario, the Pac-Man Games transcended its kind of origin with titles adapted to all kinds, 3D platform games at race and society games. PAC-MAN made appearances in other franchise titles such as Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. The character also made appearances in other media of popular culture as the Disney wreck-it film Ralph and the documentary Games video: the movie.
The character should be inducted to the Hall of Fame of the Comic-Con Museum on December 17, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6 pm pst.
