Battlefield 2042: Because of a lack of success possibly change to free-to

The ego shooter Battlefield 2042 (from 34.99 € at Buy) has not only struggled with some problems since the launch last year, but is not the hoped for Electronic Arts. Therefore, the Publisher now thinks about possible consequences. These could even lead to a free-to-play model.

This claims at least the industry insider Tom Henderson, who has made a name for itself mainly in the shooter scene by correct leaks and forecasts. Via Twitter, he explained that Electronic Art is currently testing all options for the future of Battlefield 2042. In the wording, it says: EA is reportedly very disappointed about how Battlefield 2042 has cut off so far and therefore checks ‘all options’, which are in question for the title. This also includes free play in a certain extent.

Further details have not revealed Henderson so far, but wants to refill in this regard. Anyway, it would be quite interesting how EA could be a free-to-play future for the action focused on multiplayer.
