This is a great time to be a fan of The Lord of the Rings _. In addition to the Amazon series, which will finally be released next month, today it was revealed that a new game is already in development, with WēTā workshop in charge of this title, and private division as those in charge of The publication.
For those who do not recognize these names, Private Division is a Take-Two company that is responsible for the publication of games, and helped titles such as the Outer World would reach the public. For its part, Wētā Workshop is a special effect study that worked with Peter Jackson in the _the lord of the rings, and in 2014 the study created a division focused on video games.
Regarding the new game, Middle-Arth Enterprises has granted the license of the literary works of the series to Wētā Workshop, which allows him to interpret the underlying tradition of books . This was what Michael Worosz, Take-Two Interactive Strategy Director and Private Division Director, about it: in this regard:
We are delighted to associate with WēTā workshop to publish a game set in such an extraordinary and famous universe. The property of The Lord of the Rings is the home of so many notable stories, and no entity is better equipped than the Wētā Workshop team to create a new and distinctive game experience in the Middle-earth.
For his part, Amie Wolken, head of the interactive division in Wētā Workshop, commented:
It is a privilege to create a new game set in Middle-earth, especially one that is so different from what fans have previously played. As fans, we are excited that the players explore the Middle Earth in a way that they had never done before and present to the new fans the magic of the Lord of the Rings.
Unfortunately, for the moment there are not many details about it. Because the game continues at an early stage of development, there is no name for this title. For its part, this delivery is expected to be available in the fiscal year of 2024, that is, between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024.
